THE BEST – Now how about wrist protection? (by AutismEpicenter.com)
The thing I love best about this app is its simplicity. It’s simple enough for my son with autism to use. Picking a new color is SO visual, you can’t go wrong. I have only one request; I wish there was some sort of ‘wrist protection’ when writing on the screen with a stylus. We tend to rest our wrist on the screen and if we do that, we can’t write. I like to have my son practice his writing with Drawing Pad.

Thanks for a great app!
Can’t be beat! (by JeffroTull)
This app is a rare breed. Colored pencils, brushes, markers, stickers, backgrounds, facebook, twitter, and email. Kids love this app, adults love it just as much. Tools are presented as art supplies, not as deeply nested menu items. Developers are responsive to suggestions, and seem committed to making this fantastic app even better.

It’s Pirates, what more is there to say!?! (by Wraithe)
NOTE: If the game crashes after you download, turn iPad off, then on, and you should be all set.

I’ve been a fan of Pirates! for as long as I could get it for the Mac. This is the full version, with some "streamlining" for the iPad. However, it’s not "dumbed down" – you sail the seas, attack ships, cities and take revenge on your enemies just like the original.

For those of you unfamiliar with this game, this is a primarily sailing/combat game. You will be called on to sword fight, dance (yes, dance) and fight your way to the top o’ the pirate heap.

Note that this is NOT a sailing ship simulator, naval combat is relatively "arcade", but still a lot of fun, and requires quick thinking and reflexes at the tougher settings.

Gameplay so far seems very solid on an original iPad. The touch interface has been adapted to the game pretty effectively & in fact, as with a number of games, feels like the way the game should have been in the first place. Oh, and they’ve kept the "Pirate-O-Pedia", which can be fun for younger (and older) players to flip through and learn about the historical period.

If you liked the original, this is a no-brainer, buy it. If you’re looking for a fun game to play a "Pirate"? Also a no-brainer, buy it.

Yo Ho!
So far so good! (by Narc0lep5y)
Plays just like Pirates from a few years ago with a touch modified interface. I haven’t totally mastered swordplay yet but it doesn’t seem too difficult via touch. Ship combat and navigation is very easy and overall sailing travel seems to be faster than I remember (yay!) havent snuck into town or tried a fortress attack by land yet, but the sheer nostalgia factor over one of my favorite games of all time is well worth the $3.99. No crashes and runs smooth as silk on iPad 2.

Comprising a suite of original music and interactive, educational artworks and musical artifacts, Biophilia is released as ten in-app experiences that are accessed as you fly through a three-dimensional galaxy that accompanies the albums theme song Cosmogony. All of the albums songs gradually become available inside Biophilia as interactive experiences, beginning with the first single Crystalline.

Bjrk has collaborated with artists, designers, scientists, instrument makers, writers and software developers to create an extraordinary multimedia exploration of the universe and its physical forces, processes and structures – of which music is a part. Each in-app experience is inspired by and explores the relationships between musical structures and natural phenomena, from the atomic to the cosmic. You can use Biophilia to make and learn about music, to find out about natural phenomena, or to just enjoy Bjrks music.

very cool, but how does one back this up (by da wilba)
Ok, downloaded the app on the ipad and my iphone and purchased Crystaline via my Ipad since i could not see how to buy it in the store, I’d hoped to have it on both devices to play around with it on each device, but it seems I cannot make the Crystaline purchase work on my phone no matter what I try.

is this the sort of purchase that cannot be backed up and used on other devices that I own? what will happen when my Ipad dies, does the purchases not transfer to another device? anyone know the way around this?

anyway its very cool…having a blast with this.
App just shuts itself down (by Buyer beware!!!)
I guess the app won’t work on my iPod. Wish I would have known before I bought it! Most apps won’t let you download on a device if not compatible! I would have given a 0 star rating if I could since I can’t do ANYTHING with Biophilia!

Good, but needs originality (by Nic silly)
Good app, awesome set up, but it would make it much better if you could create different sounds from the app and have ability to sequence the pads. But good work guys, keep it up
Loads of fun, high quality. (by SmiteMatter)
It certainly is unique and easy to use. There’s little about it that confuses. Except I don’t see any way to bring in my own sounds? That’s what I really need it for. Otherwise everything starts to sound unoriginal and repetitious.
But it’s a fine Sound Trends product, and they are good about evolving their apps to users needs. I’m sure it will see many improvements. I’ve played with it for hours on my iPad and so far it’s stable. Sending recorded Gruvtron performances to Studio HD is as easy as it gets.

Edition29 STRUCTURE Issue 001 lets the creators of great edifices tell us about their work through landscapes of great imagery. This Issue is in keeping with the Edition29 Architecture editorial Issues featuring modern structures from the far corners of the globe. In this Issue we take a look at Los Angeles architect Neil Denari and his condominium tower near the High Line in Manhattan. Wrapped in metal that was formed in Argentina and with glass shaped in China, this imported structure is an all American tale. Denari took a forgotten piece of unbuildable property and created a structure that cohabits with and strengthens its surroundings.

This is a beautiful addition to their app collection (by Brandon Robinson)
application is smooth, colors are engaging, layout is engaging, and content choice is interestingly shot and thought provoking.

There is just enough text to set you in the right direction, but not so much that it distracts too much from the visuals.

Great job again Edition29!!! This is a great addition to your Architecture app and The New app, which are my other two favorites.

Calvetica 4 is the best calendar app ever made for an electronic device.

We made a bold move and completely rewrote our app from scratch. For existing users not quite ready for this, we are posting the old version for free. E-mail us to learn more.

Weve sweated the details and carefully crafted an experience that is tuned to the way people really use calendars. We’ve included all the features that really matter to you.

We’ve taken great care to bring you a universal app that gives you a fantastic calendaring experience on both your iPhone and iPad for one low price. You’ll love our continuous scrolling month view on the iPad that lets you browse your schedule like youve never been able to before.

We’ve experimented, tried and tested, scrapped and redesigned all the ways we could think of to organize, view and understand calendar data. Finally, we nailed it. Calveticas month and day layout lets you view your events quickly and understand your schedule in a way no other application can. And it gets everything else out of your way.

When you open Calvetica 4 for the first time, you’ll already have all your events right there. Calvetica integrates with the default calendar app and relies on it for syncing with Google Calendar, Exchange and others.

Fast event creation has always been our forte and in Calvetica 4, we’ve outdone ourselves. With our new, innovative quick add screen, you can easily use a keypad to enter an events start time with minute precision. Plus, our favorite: A long press on the plus button creates a generic reminder to take the pizza out of the oven 5, 15 or 30 minutes from now.

No longer Best calendar app (by Spraklepea)
Update 7/19/11
What once was. Five star app is now a mess it’s ok on the iPad, but the iPhone screen is too small to handle the split month/day view. Also, flicking the month view out of the way does not fully remove it from the screen.

However, the worst change is the disappearance of the week view. Being able to rotate to week view was one of the most useful parts of the app and something which truly set it apart from all the other calendar apps.

I may start using this on my iPad, but honestly the native app on the iPad gave me what I needed.

Will now have to search for a new iPhone calendar app.

Very disappointed.

(Original 5 star review)
Seriously i think ive tried every calendar app out there clean and quick visually pleasing

Almost perfect. Far better than any other calendar app. Would love a search option, but am willing to live without it.
Incredible! (by Jeremy Kelley)
I was skeptical about the redesign but after using it for a bit, I love it!! Seriously, this took a great app and made it better.

Best. Calendar. Interface. Ever.

Great job guys!!

Does not work on iPod Touch 2nd Generation (by Christopher Reynolds)

I’m really enjoying the new Google+ social networking concept, and when I heard it was available for download via the app store I went right to it. Sad thing is, I have one of the 2nd generation iPod Touches and it is not supported for the application. Just thought I’d spread the word.
